Terms
The agreement between you and Wasp when you promote Wasp for a commission. It covers what you earn, when you are paid, how you may share Wasp, and how either side can end it.
The short version
A plain summary of what follows. The full terms below are what legally binds us.
- 30% for 12 months. You earn 30% of what each customer you bring pays, before tax, for their first 12 months of payments.
- Only money that stays counts. A payment counts once its 14-day refund window has passed. A refund takes its commission with it.
- Paid monthly, in US dollars. By Wise, PayPal or bank transfer, by the 15th. No minimum balance.
- Be honest about it. Say you earn a commission, describe Wasp as it is, and never offer a discount Wasp does not give.
- No spam, no tricks. No unsolicited bulk messages, no bidding on the Wasp name in search ads, no signing yourself up.
- Either side can end it. By email, at any time. What you earned before then is still paid, unless the terms were broken.
Section 01This agreement
These Affiliate Terms form a binding agreement between you and Thato Zachariah Manyapye, a sole trader based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, trading as Wasp ("Wasp", "we", "us"). They govern the Wasp affiliate program (the "Program"), in which you promote Wasp and earn a commission on what the customers you refer pay.
You accept these terms when you tick the box on the application form and send it, and again each time you share your affiliate link after you are approved. If you do not accept them, do not apply or share the link. If you also use Wasp yourself, our Terms of Service govern that use separately.
Section 02Joining
You apply through the form on the affiliate page. We read every application and may approve or decline it at our discretion, without giving a reason. You are not an affiliate, and earn nothing, until we confirm your approval by email.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The information in your application must be true, and you must tell us if it changes, in particular the email address and payout method we pay you through. One person holds one affiliate account. We may not be able to work with you if doing so would be unlawful, for example because of sanctions.
Section 03Your link and credit
When we approve you, we give you a personal link of the form meetwasp.com/?via=yourcode. A person is credited to you (a "Referred Customer") when all of the following are true:
- they first reach meetwasp.com through your link;
- they join the Wasp waitlist or create a Wasp account within 30 days of that first visit, in the same browser;
- they were not already on the waitlist or a Wasp customer before that visit;
- they joined after we approved you; and
- they are not you, and not an account you control.
The first affiliate link a person arrives through is the one credited. A later link does not take the credit away. Credit is recorded in the person's browser and in our records, and it can be lost if they clear their browsing data, use a private window or join from another device. We can only credit what our records show, and our records decide who is a Referred Customer.
Wasp is currently invite-only. A Referred Customer usually joins the waitlist first and is invited later, so there can be weeks between a sign-up and their first payment.
Section 04What you earn
You earn a commission of 30% of each payment a Referred Customer makes for their Wasp subscription, calculated on the amount before tax and before payment processing fees, for every payment made within 12 months of that customer's first payment. A payment made inside those 12 months counts in full, whether it covers a month or a quarter.
For example, a Pro customer paying $35 a month earns you $10.50 a month, for up to 12 payments.
You earn nothing on:
- a free trial, or any period a customer is not charged for;
- any amount refunded or charged back, in whole or in part;
- payments made after a customer's 12 months have run out;
- payments made after this agreement ends;
- your own subscription, or one paid by you or for you; and
- sign-ups or payments obtained in breach of these terms.
Commission is calculated and paid in US dollars and rounded to the nearest cent. If a customer pays in another currency, we convert at the rate our payment provider applied to that payment.
Section 05Refunds and adjustments
Wasp customers can ask for a refund within 14 days of a charge (see our Refund and Cancellation Policy). Commission on a payment therefore becomes payable only once 14 days have passed since the payment was made.
If a payment is refunded or charged back after we have paid you commission on it, we may deduct that commission from your future payouts. We will show you the adjustment when we do.
Section 06Payment
We pay once a month, by the 15th, for all commission that became payable by the end of the previous month, whatever the amount: there is no minimum balance. We pay by Wise, PayPal or bank transfer, to the account you name, with a short statement of the payments it covers. Statements show amounts and dates, never who the customers are.
Any fees your own bank or payment service charges to receive the money are yours. The commission is the full amount we pay; you are responsible for reporting it and paying any tax due on it where you live. We may ask for information we need to pay you lawfully, such as your legal name, address or a tax form, and may hold a payout until we have it.
Section 07How you may promote Wasp
You may share your link anywhere you have an honest reason to. When you do, you must:
- say that you earn a commission, clearly and close to the link, as the advertising laws of most countries require;
- describe Wasp accurately, using only what Wasp's own website and app say it does, and never promise results;
- follow the rules of every platform you post on, and the laws on marketing, privacy and email where you and your audience are.
You must not:
- offer or advertise any discount, coupon, free month or special price, because Wasp does not offer one through affiliates;
- send unsolicited bulk email, messages or comments, or post your link where it is not welcome;
- bid on "Wasp", "meetwasp" or similar terms in paid search, or register domains, accounts or handles that use Wasp's name;
- present yourself as Wasp, or as speaking for Wasp;
- pay or reward people to sign up, sign up yourself or made-up accounts, or sign anyone up without their real intent to use Wasp;
- hide, cloak or force your link, for example by setting it in a page without the visitor clicking it; or
- place your link alongside content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit or deceptive.
Section 08Wasp's name and materials
While you are an affiliate, you may use the Wasp name, logo and the images on meetwasp.com only to promote Wasp under these terms. You may not alter the logo or suggest that Wasp endorses you or anything else you sell. This permission is not exclusive, cannot be passed on, and ends when this agreement ends or when we ask you to stop using a particular item.
Section 09Ending the arrangement
Either of us may end this agreement at any time, for any reason, by email. From that moment your link stops earning, and you must stop presenting yourself as a Wasp affiliate.
If you end it, or we end it without cause, we still pay the commission on payments made before the end, once they pass the 14-day refund window. We pay your final balance within 60 days.
If we end it because you broke these terms, in particular Section 07, or because of fraud or misleading activity, any commission not yet paid is forfeited, and we may recover commission already paid on sign-ups or payments obtained that way.
We may also close the Program entirely with at least 30 days notice by email. In that case the Program ends for everyone as if we had ended it without cause.
Section 10Changes to the program
We may change these terms or the commission, with at least 30 days notice by email. A change never reduces commission on payments already made before it takes effect. If you keep sharing your link after a change takes effect, you accept it; if you do not accept it, you may end the agreement under Section 09.
Section 11Our relationship
You are an independent contractor. Nothing here makes you an employee, partner, agent or representative of Wasp, and you cannot make commitments on Wasp's behalf. The Program is not exclusive: you may promote other products, and we may work with other affiliates.
Section 12Data and confidentiality
We use the details in your application and your payout records only to run the Program, pay you and keep our accounts, as our Privacy and Security Policy describes. We never share the names or contact details of the people you refer, with you or anyone else, and you must not try to find out who they are through Wasp.
Section 13Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you for indirect or consequential loss, or for credit lost because tracking failed for reasons outside our control. Our total liability to you under this agreement is limited to the commission paid or payable to you in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.
You are responsible for what you publish, and you agree to cover our reasonable costs from any claim that arises because you broke these terms or the law while promoting Wasp.
Section 14Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates have exclusive jurisdiction. Before starting formal proceedings, please email legal@meetwasp.com. Most disagreements are resolved faster by a conversation.
